Three added to staff at East Central Dr. Charles V. Wright has announced board approval for the hiring of personnel for three new staff positions at East Central Junior College. Carol Vickers will join the Communications division as an instructor in English, Wallace Keen will join the Vocational division as Elec– tronics instructor, and James C. Hansford will vacate his position as Drafting and Design instructor to become the Industrial Coordinator with the Vocational division. All three will assume their duties in January. of 1983. Prior to his appoint– ment to this position, he was employed as an instructor in the Drafting and Design department at ECJC. Before coming to East Central in 1979. he was employed with Erwin Industries in Jackson as a steel detailer and had worked at other industries as a draftsman. He had previ– ously taught industrial arts and mechanical drawing at Florence and Mclaurin High· Schools. He is married to the former Linda Hollingsworth of Forest who is presently Secretary to the Dean of Students at East Central. They live in Decatur and have two sons, Glen, six, and Neil, four. Hansford will plan, organize, and establish classes in any vocational area of interest to businesses and industries in the five county area.

Mr. Keen taught the early course in satellite and missile guidance tracking for Philco and has been more recently involved in the rapid development of computer 'electronics. He will be ac– tively engaged in planning and developing the curricu– lum material and course outlines for the .electronics program and in recruiting students during the spring and summer. The first stu– dents are expected in the new program. in the fall of 1983. Keen is married to the former Nell Cleveland and they have one son, Wayne, who is a graduate student in Physics on a teaching fellow– ship at the University of Alabama. They presently re– side in the Stratton commun– ity near Decatur. Hansford received the bachelor's degree from Mis– sissippi State University and expects to complete the requirements for .the mas– ter's degree in the suinmer

Mrs. Vickers, a native of Neshoba County, holds the bachelor's and master's de– grees from the Univeitsity pf Southern Mississippi and has done further graduate work at Mississippi State Univer– sity. She has taught English in the public schools for the past fourteen years. Mrs. Vickers is married to Ovid ickers, also an instructor in he East Central English epartment. They have three hildren, Nona Creel of Bir- ingham, Ala., Harriett, a student at ECJC, and Ovid III, a seventh grade student at Decatur High School. She will be teaching the devel– opmental English courses and will be involved in a special revision of the devel– opmental courses in the English, Speech, .and Read– ing areas. Keen is a graduate of the University of Southern Mis– sissippi. He has taught Basic ElecJronics at Keesler Air Force Base, has been em– ployed by Philco Corpora– tion, and for the past seven– teen years was associated with IBM in both Huntsville,
