Mrs. Simmons Feted A reception honoring the retire– ment of Mrs. Alyne Simmons, a faculty member at East Central Junior College for a number of years, was held on Sunday, May 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Everett in Decatur. Hostesses for the special occasion were Mrs. Richard Ethridge, Mrs. Roger Burkes, Mrs. Tommy Thrash, Mrs. Rudolph Mayes, Mrs. Horace Pitts, Mrs. George Heard, Mrs. Bruce Peterson, Mrs. Desma Kilpatrick, Mrs. Sarah Gipson, Mrs. John Alford, Mrs. Ovid Vickers, Miss Lucille Wood, Miss Lisa Everett, and Mrs. Everett. Serving at the reception were Miss Bonnie Reeves, Miss Jackie Sue Mayes and Miss Lisa Everett. The hostesses presented the honoree with a gold chain and three add-on gold beads. Approximately 175 friends and former students attended the special reception honoring Mrs. Simmons.
