Development Foundation Set Up At East Central

The Foundation can assist the college in the following ways : to provide salary sup– plements to faculty members in crucial fields, to support research projects to faculty members, to pay travel ex– penses for instructors at– tending conferences or doing specialized study, to finance an in-service study of the educational setup at East Central, to provide a number of scholarships, to- finance the appearance of nationally known lecturers on the cam– pus, and to set up restricted gifts fund to improve offerings in certain areas. All gifts to the Foundation are deductible for federal I income tax purposes. I Membership in the Foun- j dation requires a contribution of $10 or more. Recognition in I the form of a permanent · plaque located in an ap– propriate place on campus will be given to those who donate $500 or more. A decal and j membership card will be given . to all members of the Foun- I dation. I Board of directors for the ! Foundation are Mac Spensce, Mrs. Jeannette Thrash, Morris Stuart, Doyle McMullan, John Risher, Rudolph Mayes, and Paul Simmons. Ex-officio members of the board of directors are Dr. Charles Wright, president of ECJC; ., Denver Brackeen, dean of 'i students; and Don Howington, president of the alumni association. The East Central Junior College Development Foun– dation , Inc. has been established to aid East Central in supplying quality education · for its students. This type of institutional endowment is a means by which the college can better assure the continued in– crement in the quality of in– struction and facilities. The income from the endowment can be used to permit the prosecution of long-range programs. Support to the Foundation can be made in the form of cash contributions, stocks,
