East Mississippi will entertain Northwest JC at 7 p.m., and Holmes JC will go against East Central's at 8:30, in the first night's play. Tuesday night the winners of Monday's matches will play for the championship at 8:30 while the first-round losers battle at 7. The Lions have four returning lettermen, East Central has seven, and Holmes has six. Starting for Holmes will be 6-2 forward Ray Hilderbrand l and 5-11 guard Robert Mclnnis, both of Bentonia; 5-11 guard ' Jamie Foster of McAdams; 6-3 forward Durwin Carpenter of 1 Grenada and 6-2 forward Mick- 1 ey Rivers of Holly Bluff. I "Both East Mississippi and East Central have tall boys," said Holmes Coach Robert Gar– rison. "Fans will have a treat in store as the four colleges collide," he added. "The teams will get a chance to check out ea·ch other's game plan before we pair off in north division league play." The flour teams compete against eadh other annually and the tourney site rotates between ! the colleges. rnolmes will host ! the event nex~ year.

At the half. the Warriors held a 35-30 margin. Glen Hitt led the Warrior scoring attack with 26 points. Gary Gordon added 18. wilh Mike Crawford pumping in 13. and Keith Madison. 12. High scorers for Northe~st were Elvis Thomas. 12. Mike Martin. 13, and J\tliles Johnson, 13. . . The win sent the Warr10rs conference record to 1-1. They are 2-4 on the season. For the WaTriors of Coach Joe Clark. the loss sent their North Division Junior College Confer– ence record to 2-2. while their season record moved to 3-5. I Ralph Simpson led the Delta 1 attack with 20, followed by Alan Shannon with 18, and Bubba Campbell. 11. Gary G o r d o n paced the Warriors with 21.
