~CJC Band Clinic February 22-23 The 4th annual East ., Central Junior College Band .Clinic will be held February 22 & 23 on the Decatur campus. According to Mr. James Dykes, Band Director at ECJC, approximately ~90 junior high school and high school students from the district will be participating. Friday will be primarily for registering and tryouts for seating arrangements. Rehearsals will be held that .evening. Students will return on Saturday and continue rehearsals. Two concerts are planned beginning Saturday at 3:45 p.m. in the Huff Auditorium. Each concert will last about 30 minutes and the public is invited to attend. During the clinic in- · structors will give mini- · clinics on certain instruments foc more individualized in– struction. Serving as conductors are Mr. Leroy Smith, Band Director at Denmon Junior High sChool in McComb and ~ormer. President of .the 1'Mississippi High School Band Directors Association. Mr. :red Amon is the Band Director at Pearl Junior High School in Pearl. One objective of the clinic is to provide a performance opportunity foc high school students, many of whom would not .,get such ex– perience.
