SCOTT COUNTY TIMES (Combined With the Progress Herald) Three Scott Students Get ECJC Scholarships Dr. Charles V. Wright,

president of East Central J Junior College has announced I that three students of Scott County have been awarded E. C. J. C. Valedictorian scholarships. They are Janice Kay Measels, Jeanne Lou Gilbert, and Ruby Ann Car– penter. Janice Kay Measels is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Measels of Route 3, Morton. She attended Morton At– tendance Center where she maintained a 97 grade point average. She has participated in the French Club, Choral Club, Dramatics Club, and Annual Staff. She was editor of the school yearbook, Senior Class Reporter, President of the Beta Club, and won the Social Studies Award. Kay plans to attend East Central Junior College this fall to further her education. Jeanne Lou Gilbert, of Route 2, Forest, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Gilbert. Jeanne attended Lake High School where she maintained a 10.95 grade point average out of a possible 12.00. She was President of the Beta Club her senior year, participated in the FHA Club, Paper Staff, Basketball, receiving All-District her senior year. She was Head Cheerleader, Freshman Homecoming Maid, a nine year piano student receiving Superior rating in the Hymn Playing Festival. She also received the Science and Valedictorian Award at Lake. Jeanne plans to attend East Central this fall majoring in Mathematics. Ruby Ann Carpenter is the daughter of Mrs. Ruby Car– pent~ of 531 Hillsboro Street, Forest. She attended Forest High School where she maintained a 99 grade point average. Ann has been a member of the Beta I Club (reporter), FHA, FTA, and Chorus. She won the Mark I . and Edith Weitzenhoffer Scholarship, was selected to I the Hall of Fame and received . Special Distinction•. J\np ·plans...
