G.8 NAVIGATOR (12-MONTH) – TAACCCT GRANT
General Statement of the Function: The Grant-funded Navigator reports directly to the Louisville Center Operations and Data Coordinator. The Navigator will provide intrusive monitoring of students in addition to offering career guidance.
Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement processes for the transition into career pathways and community college coursework; 2. Articulate processes in written format with adherence to established timelines; 3. Recruit individuals to participate in the program; 4. Conduct intake and placement of participants, to include the introduction of project career pathways; 5. Establish positive and trusting relationships with students and staff; 6. Facilitate student transitions into college by creating informational and social networks; escorting them through college admissions processes, including financial aid and student services; and connecting students with campus support programs; 7. Counsel students with goal setting, career awareness, and career aspirations; 8. Troubleshoot life barriers and identify support resources and success strategies for academic success; 9. Foster motivational skills within the students in relation to college persistence;
10. Track and document student enrollment and attendance; 11. Track and document student academic performance; 12. Monitor students’ progress in training program through case management; 13. Connect students with job placement assistance; 14. Follow up with students after skill enhancement program; and 15. Other duties as assigned.
