E.26 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF HOUSING/STUDENT ACTIVITIES General Statement of the Function : The Administrative Assistant to the Director of Housing/Student Activities reports directly to the Director of Housing/Student Activities. The Administrative Assistant performs those duties and functions normally associated with a secretary/administrative assistant position. These general duties and functions will include general office duties such as typing, filing, computer operation, reception, telephone, scheduling, data collection, etc. Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Perform general office duties as assigned by the Director of Housing/Student Activities; 2. Serve as primary reception for the Offices of the Director of Housing/Student Activities and the Dean of Students; 3. Serve as the primary contact for Housing, Student Activities, and Dean of Students’ requests; 4. Serve as the initial contact for student requests for certain recurring housing, student activities, and Dean of Students’ functions; 5. Assist as needed in other student services’ areas; 6. Assist with supervision of assigned work study students; 7. Utilize the computer for daily entry and retrieval of information relative to Housing; 8. Ensure materials needed for Director of Housing/Student Activities’ day-to-day needs are maintained; 9. Assist campus police and others with locating students as needed; 10. Open and distribute mail daily; 11. Answer the telephone; 12. Assist in background checks and finger printing; 13. Maintain office files; 14. Assist in preparation for student activities; 15. Schedule and assist in Dorm Supervisor meetings; 16. Assist in the process of student elections for SBA and Homecoming; 17. Schedule tours specific to Housing/Dormitories; and 18. Perform other duties as assigned. (Added 7/19/19)
