E.7 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR THE LIBRARY

General Statement of the Function : The Administrative Assistant for the Library will work with the entire professional library staff to provide technical, clerical, and automated access to resources, information and ideas and to support the mission and values of Burton Library.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Enter data; 2. Answer the telephone; 3. Send fax transmissions; 4. File records; 5. Handle money transactions; 6. Prepare reports; 7. Assist at the circulation desk as needed (to include recording circulation statistics, creating student records, and charging and discharging materials, etc.); 8. Receive and process materials; 9. Process periodicals, to include checking in, stripping, displaying, etc.; 10. Process new acquisitions (to include collating, property stamping, accessing, making shelf list inserts, SIRSI input, etc.); 11. Assist students with Microsoft Office applications; 12. Assist students with minimum database use, such as MAGNOLIA, ETC.; and 13. Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Learning Resources.
