D.40 WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORS

General Statement of the Function : The Workforce Development Coordinators are responsible for working with industries and businesses in the East Central Community College District to establish needed training programs and offer special services available through the College. The Coordinators are supervised by the Director of Workforce Development.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Establish and maintain contact with industries and businesses in the district; 2. Act as liaison person between district businesses and industries and East Central Community College; 3. Coordinate all Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) sponsored industrial training projects; 4. Work closely with the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) project office to ensure accountability for project funding; 5. Work with industrial development groups, the State Employment Service, and civic organizations to establish and maintain an environment desirable to industry; 6. Provide the East Central Community College leadership with information to ensure that effective provisions meet business and industries’ needs; 7. Provide required reports to the Director, the Dean, the President, and/or State offices; 8. Recruit, orient, support, supervise, and evaluate industrial training instructors; 9. Help maintain all project records and participant records concerning adult and industry training classes; 10. Authorize payment relative to industry training projects and prepare reimbursement requests according to approved State projects; 11. Attend conferences, workshops, and meetings as required; 12. Promote and market workforce skills enhancement offerings; 13. Conduct training projects in accordance with East Central Community College and the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) Policies and Procedures; and 14. Other duties as assigned.
