WIOA WORKFORCE COORDINATOR/COMPUTER INSTRUCTOR-TDWDB

General Statement of the Function : The WIOA Workforce Coordinator/Computer Instructor-TDWDB reports directly to the Director of Workforce Development. The Program Coordinator will serve displaced workers within the East Central Community College district. The Program Coordinator will be hired and housed by East Central Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Attend all Rapid Response meetings within the assigned area and identify the appropriate community college staff at each institution that will provide Rapid Response assistance services and ensure that the correct community and junior college employees receive the employee survey forms; 2. Identify the programs, services, and resources available at each community college that are available to assist displaced workers and business; 3. Act as liaison and as a contact point for dislocated workers seeking training or education; 4. Research and understand all financial aid programs available including grants, loans, and scholarships; 5. Work with the State Rapid Response staff, community college and the Local Workforce Investment Area staff to improve the development and coordination of the Rapid Response system; 6. Determine current training services available to dislocated workers through local workforce centers, adult education programs, academic and career & technical education curricula; and to implement methods to effectively communicate this information to the dislocated workers; 7. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all levels of state and federal statutes and guidelines pertaining to WIA and Sub-grant procedures to assure compliance with all such regulations; 8. Work with state employment agencies in the community college district to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and completely and routed to appropriate personnel, agencies; 9. Work with the business office personnel in the community college district to request payments for expenses of WIA students; 10. Work with the financial aid office personnel to make sure each WIA student has applied for all types of financial aid available; 11. Work with community college personnel to complete employment follow-up data on WIA students; 12. Complete and maintain all documentation needed to meet accountability requirements; and 13. Perform other duties as assigned.
