D.32 LIBRARIAN I

General Statement of the Function : Coordinate services for faculty, students and the community. The Librarian I is responsible for acquisitions, cataloging, processing and circulation of library material. The Librarian I must be familiar with electronic search tools and content management tools to post electronic documents and media to a public website. Experience with the SIRSIDynix library management software system is a plus. The Librarian I reports to the Dean of Learning Resources.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Develop services and resources necessary to meet the needs of faculty, students and community; 2. Coordinate Staff Development for the faculty; 3. Conduct annual data based evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the Library and the areas that require improvement; 4. Encourage faculty participation in the selection of new materials and use of the Library in serving students; 5. Looks into the future for innovative ideas for the use of modern technology to increase library efficiency and service; 6. Ensures the effective functioning of the College’s Library Committee; 7. Teach students the appropriate use of the Library both formally and informally; 8. Other duties as assigned.
