D.21 DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI RELATIONS AND THE FOUNDATION

General Statement of the Function : The Director of Alumni Relations and the Foundation coordinates daily operations as well as the fundraising efforts of the East Central Community College Alumni Association and the East Central Community College Foundation, Inc. The Director of Alumni Relations and the Foundation reports directly to the Vice President for Public Information who reports directly to the President of the College. The President of the College is the chief fundraiser for East Central Community College. Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Coordinates planning and evaluation functions related to the Alumni Association and to the Foundation; 2. Coordinates fundraising efforts including annual fund campaigns, capital fund campaigns, planned giving campaigns, and special events designed to secure funds for the College in consultation with the Vice President for Public Information and the President; 3. Researches, identifies and coordinates contact with prospective donors for fundraising efforts; 4. Provides counsel to the President of the College on prospective major donors and develops opportunities for the President, as the chief fundraiser, to secure gifts for the college; 5. Coordinates annual mass mail outs to alumni/friends of the College including, but not limited to, the Alumni Association membership dues, Warrior Club, and Homecoming; 6. Maintains donor records for the Alumni Association and for the Foundation; 7. Facilitates meetings of the Alumni Association Board and the Foundation Board; 8. Acknowledges the receipt of all gifts to the Alumni Association and the Foundation; 9. Works with the Alumni Association, the Officers and Board of Directors, the Vice President for Public Information, the Homecoming Steering Committee, and the College President in planning and executing Homecoming activities; 10. Coordinates the appointment of new members to the Alumni Association Board and to the Foundation Board in conjunction with the officers of the Alumni Association, officers of the Foundation, and the College President; 11. Coordinates the search for current addresses for alumni and maintains all the records for such addresses; 12. Coordinates the nomination and balloting procedures for the annual selection of the Academic Instructor of the Year, the Career-Technical Instructor of the Year, the Alumna of the Year, the Alumnus of the Year, and the inductees named to the Athletic Hall of Fame; 13. Keeps abreast of current issues and trends in higher education philanthropy; 14. Travels to events and meetings both on- and off-campus as needed; and 15. Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Public Information and/or the President of the College.
