D.15 CAREER CENTER DIRECTOR/RECRUITER

General Statement of the Function : The Career Center Director/Recruiter reports directly to the Vice President for Student Services. His/her duties include assistance in implementing the College’s recruitment programs and managing the Career Center.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Identify prospective students and develop/implement a strategy for recruiting these students; 2. Schedule visits to high schools within the East Central Community College district; 3. Establish and maintain relationships with counselors/advisors in the district; 4. Assist in campus-based recruitment activities (e.g., Direct Mail Campaign, Senior Days, Counselor’s Workshops, high school visitation, campus tours, etc.); 5. Order needed career advisement materials and organize resources for use; 6. Maintain inventory of supplies/equipment/resources for the Career Center; 7. Maintain the decorum of the Center; 8. Maintain records of services provided to students in the Career Center; 9. Assist the Academic Counselor as needed; 10. Provide current job data and career education materials; 11. Assist students in the use of computers and software to investigate careers and interests;

12. Administer career interest inventories and assessments; 13. Assist in communication with business/industry recruiters; 14. Assist in the scheduling of class/group use of the Career Center; and 15. Perform other duties as assigned.
