INSTRUCTOR FOR EMT TECHNOLOGY COURSE

General Statement of the Function : Maintain general responsibility for operation of the course. Collaborate with the Dean of Healthcare, clinical agencies, and ambulance providers in securing clinical agreements and arranging clinical activities for students. Facilitate the teaching and learning process in the classroom, lab, and clinical areas. All faculty must follow the established policies and procedures of the College, and support, encourage, and participate in appropriate organizations and activities as directed. The EMT Instructor reports to the Dean of Healthcare Education. 1. Maintains general responsibilities for the operation of the program. 2. Conducts self and family affairs to bring credit to the College and to the community. 3. Participates in professional organizations and other activities that upgrade and contribute to professional growth. 4. Supports and encourages College sponsored extracurricular activities. 5. Supports and participates in community affairs that contribute to the total well-being of the College, community, and instructor. 6. Counsels any student who seeks or needs assistance. 7. Supports and maintains the College’s student standards of conduct and discipline, healthcare programs, and Code of Ethics for EMS Practitioners®. 8. Follows ECCC’s policies and procedures to enhance instruction, facilitate administration, and promotes student well-being. 9. Facilitates teaching and learning process for all students so that each student will have an opportunity to achieve course objectives and College and program outcomes. 10. Maintains accurate records of student class attendance and progression and prepare appropriate reports, as needed. 11. Assists in assessment, planning, organization, implementation, evaluation and review process of the programs to ensure continuous improvement. 12. Submits budget requests to the Dean of Healthcare during the budget revision process. 13. Submits requests for purchase orders of materials, supplies, and equipment to the Dean of Healthcare, as needed. 14. Maintains appropriate office hours as required by College policy. 15. Attends all scheduled faculty meetings and division/departmental meetings, as requested. 16. Assists in the recruiting and placement of students. 17. Maintains responsibility for program equipment, maintenance, and transfer and disposal. 18. Collaborates with clinical agencies and ambulance providers in securing clinical agreements and arranging clinical activities for students. 19. Works with College personnel and appropriate agencies, state and national to meet accreditation standards. 20. Performs other duties as assigned. 21. Must satisfy a criminal history background check pursuant to section 43-11-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, with no disqualifying factors. Duties and Responsibilities :
