B.10 DEAN OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

General Statement of the Function : The Dean of Information Technology is responsible for the administration of college-wide information technology resources and processes, including but not limited to: wide and local area networks, digital security and privacy, employee productivity, hardware and software, instructional technology, enterprise resource planning and student information systems. The Dean of Information Technology reports directly to the President.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Administers the College’s information and institutional systems and supervises employees engaged in provision of related technologies to enhance learning and productivity across all facets of the College; 2. Assists the Associate Director for Information Technology in management of information systems consisting of enterprise resource planning and student information systems and the campus intranet portal; 3. Assists the Director of Network Systems in management of network systems including but not limited to the WAN, LAN, instructional technology, and the VOIP phone system; 4. Represents the College in MACC or statewide information technology advising groups and initiatives; 5. Coordinates and participates in the preparation of various institutional reports; 6. Works closely with the Vice President for Institutional Research & Effectiveness in comprehensive information technology planning; 7. Coordinates the selection and procurement of information technology hardware and software for the College; 8. Serves as the primary vendor contact for ECCC information technology; 9. Coordinates the assessment and improvement of the College’s information technology systems and procedures through the institutional effectiveness and departmental planning processes; 10. Provides documentation for Information Technology Management procedures; 11. Chairs the Technology Planning Committee (Ad Hoc); and 12. Performs other duties as assigned by the President or Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
