B.9 VICE PRESIDENT FOR INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH & EFFECTIVENESS

General Statement of the Function : The Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness reports to the President and provides leadership and oversight to the research, planning, assessment, and accreditation activities of the college. The Vice President is responsible for directing a comprehensive college-wide institutional effectiveness program that includes strategic planning, institutional research, outcomes assessment, and compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges’ Principles of Accreditation . The Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness reports directly to the President of the College. 1. Provides support and leadership to the College in fulfilling reaffirmation requirements set forth in the Principles of Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges of the (SACSCOC) under the direction of the President; 2. Provides leadership and data for accreditation reviews to include SACSCOC and other professional accreditation reviews; 3. Provides leadership in the coordination, production, and distribution of the college’s Strategic Plan using the vision, mission, and institutional commitments of East Central Community College as a foundation; 4. Develops and maintains base and trend data and compiles data to support institutional planning and assessment of institutional effectiveness; 5. Directs and coordinates the assessment surveys regarding educational and service programs; 6. Works with the Executive Council in planning and organizing all aspects of the regional accreditation and reaffirmation process; 7. Assists the Vice President for Instruction with program reviews and assessment measures to ensure continuous improvement; 8. Coordinates the compilation, publication, and distribution of assessment information regarding all areas of the College; 9. Coordinates, prepares, and submits SACSCOC reports; 10. Engages actively in professional development, training, and additional education relevant to the performance of essential duties of the position; 11. Promotes a spirit of collegiality among all departments and divisions of the college focusing on the benefits of the use of institutional effectiveness measures for departmental improvements, enhanced efficiency, and/or documented student learning and achievement; 12. Advises the President and the Executive Council on the efficiency and effectiveness of college programs and services; 13. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data supplied in response to federal, state, and local reporting requirements; 14. Conducts research assignments at the discretion of the President; 15. Oversees the administration of the Office of Information Technology and serves as direct supervisor to the Dean of Information Technology; 16. Works with the Dean of Information Technology to develop and follow comprehensive college wide information technology planning; 17. Chairs the Institutional Research & Effectiveness Council and the SACSCOC Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Committee; 18. Assists in the development and submission of grant applications on behalf of the college; and 19. Performs other duties as assigned by the President of the College. Duties and Responsibilities :
