Policy Title: ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Principles of Organization 1. The members of the Board of Trustees have legal authority only when the Board is in formal session, and when a quorum is present. 2. The control over the college by the Board of Trustees is not by individual members, but through the majority votes of the Board whereby rules, regulations, policies and other pertinent matters are adopted when the Board is in lawful session. 3. The Board of Trustees shall operate independently of any influence by political groups, corporations or other entities and shall have as its guide the statutes of the State of Mississippi which set the power and authority of the Board.
