Policy Title: SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL

The Vice President for Instruction is responsible for the supervision of the instructional programs. Subject matter within each of the seven divisions is grouped so that a single syllabus is prepared for each course and those who teach the same course follow the jointly prepared syllabi. Textbooks and other instructional materials are also selected jointly by those who teach the same course. Approval by the deans/directors/division chairpersons and the Vice President for Instruction are required for adoption of textbooks and instructional materials. A representative faculty committee also assists the librarians and Vice President for Instruction in planning and in material selection for the library. The Vice President for Instruction maintains a current list of all materials and textbooks in use and a syllabus for each course taught. He/she meets periodically with each division for planning and revising the instructional program. The Vice President for Student Services has responsibility for the supervision of extra-curricula and co curricula activities, many of which involve faculty. The Vice President for Business Operations has supervisory responsibilities for the areas of function assigned to him/her.
