Policy Title: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

East Central Community College recognizes the importance of the professional growth of its employees. Participation is encouraged in local, state, and national professional organizations. Such membership in these professional organizations is not required nor is it conditional to employment or advancement; however, all employees are required to participate in at least 10 hours of professional development activities each academic year. These activities should be relevant to job duties and responsibilities. The College will make available professional development opportunities throughout the academic year, but employees are not limited to those activities. Travel funds may be made available for attendance at professional conferences and meetings.
