3. Pets may be kept in college-owned houses provided they do not become a nuisance to the neighbors. This does not apply to employees residing in dormitories as pets are not allowed in those facilities.

4. Housing assignments will be made through the President.

5. Requests for repairs will be made in writing to the Vice President for Business Operations and Superintendent of the Physical Plant. 6. In periods of severe weather, occupants are responsible for taking the necessary precautionary steps to protect the property. 7. The College provides insurance on the property. This does not cover the loss of personal items in case of fire, theft, or personal liability. Each occupant should take the necessary steps to prevent fire or theft and to provide for personal loss in either case. 8. Occupants cannot paint or make any alterations to the property without first receiving proper approval from the Vice President for Business Operations and Superintendent of the Physical Plant. 9. Occupants shall be financially responsible for excessive wear and tear to the property. Inspections for excessive wear and tear will be made prior to final payment on the fulfillment of the employee’s contract.

Required College-Owned Housing for Specified Personnel

ECCC believes it is mutually beneficial to both the college and campus community for certain employees to live near the center of campus life. Therefore, unless otherwise approved by the President, employees of ECCC who fill the positions listed below are required to accept college-owned housing as a condition of their employment if college-owned housing is available. As such, rent will not be charged to the employees filling the following positions:

1. President 2. Vice President for Instruction 3. Vice President for Student Services 4. Dean of Students

5. Campus Police Chief 6. Head Football Coach 7. Head Baseball Coach 8. Head Softball Coach

9. Head Men’s Basketball Coach 10. Head Women’s Basketball Coach 11. Assistant Football Coaches 12. Resident Managers/Dormitory Supervisors for Student Housing

Employees residing in a college-owned house will be responsible for all utilities.

Other employees from the list identified in No. 6 under General Policies Related to College-owned Housing may be assigned to live in college-owned housing if exceptions are made for the positions listed above.
