Policy Title: INSURANCE

Group health insurance is available for employees under the State of Mississippi Health Insurance Plan for each employee who works at least 20 hours per week on a consistent basis. The amount of the monthly premium paid by the College depends on the policy chosen by the employee. Also, participation in the following insurance programs are available to all such employees with the employee bearing full responsibility for premiums:

Hospitalization supplementary policies, Salary protection insurance/disability insurance, Accident policies, Tax-sheltered annuity programs, Dental, Vision, and Life.

The College provides professional liability insurance for the Board of Trustees, administration, and faculty. Details concerning these programs may be obtained in the Business Office. As in the case of housing and other fringe benefits, when employment is terminated so are all insurance benefits. Retirement or resignation terminates all fringe benefits on the effective date of the retirement or resignation. Upon retirement, employees may continue their hospitalization insurance, and supplemental policies bearing full responsibility for all premiums.
