Policy Title: MAINTENANCE REQUEST PROCEDURE

Emergencies - Problems should be reported to the Physical Plant Office. A trouble call record will be prepared and action taken as needed, within the capability of maintenance department personnel, or referred to the Vice President for Business Operations for professional service contract. Maintenance Requests Other than Emergency - A Work Request/Repair Order should be prepared to explain the problem or work requested. The request should be forwarded to the division chairperson. Faculty housing tenants should forward requests to the Vice President for Business Operations. The maintenance department will review and plan the job. It will be scheduled within the availability of manpower. Large jobs and projects should be requested sufficiently in advance to allow cost estimates, preparation of needed plans, and procurement of material. Projects requiring large expenditure of funds may be deferred for inclusion in the next year’s budget.
