Policies & Procedures Manual

Before a semester class schedule is released to the public, the Director of Admissions and Records is responsible for reviewing the class offerings submitted by the Office of Instruction for compatibility of course credit hour assignments with policy and correct labeling of instructional mode. Any exceptions are forwarded to the Vice President for Instruction for resolution before publication. Exceptions noted after publication should be forwarded to the Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness along with the Vice President for Instruction. Deans, Directors and/or Division Chairs have responsibility for the review of hybrid courses in ensuring alignment of total student engagement time with face-to-face benchmarks. For online courses this responsibility lies with the Director of eLearning. Any exceptions arising from said reviews should be forwarded to the Vice President for Instruction for resolution. All courses must have common defined student learning outcomes across multiple sections, even if delivered across varying modes of instruction. This commonality of outcomes is managed at the course level by the lead instructor as assigned by the responsible Dean, Director or Division Chair, and is documented in the course level student learning outcome section of the Institutional Effectiveness Plan. Fixed outcomes at the course level serve to calibrate the awarding of course credit to engaged student time across modes. Calibration of Engaged Student Time to Student Learning Outcomes
