Policy Title: WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ADULT CLASSES

Workforce Development classes will be offered in any career trade or technical subject when it becomes evident that there is sufficient demand and need to justify the offering for adults wishing to learn a new trade or upgrade their present occupational level. Also, special training will be provided for new and expanding industries. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit can be awarded for these programs.

1. Workforce staff at the Decatur Campus or any Career Advancement Center should be contacted.

2. Appropriate personnel will prepare required project paperwork to request State approval of funds.

3. Students will be required to register using the East Central Community College Workforce Development registration form. 4. Instructors will meet minimum certification requirements as set forth by the Mississippi Community College Board/Office of Workforce Development. 5. Instructors will be required to sign a Teaching Agreement and meet class in accordance with this agreement and provide the Workforce Development Director or his/her designated representative with information regarding the attendance and success or failure of each student. 6. Instructors will be allowed travel pay for teaching off-campus classes as outlined by Workforce guidelines.

7. Workforce adult class instructors will be paid at a rate not to exceed current workforce guidelines.
