Policy Title: ADMISSION OF CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDENTS

Non-credit activities organized to provide unified and systematic instruction, measured in duration of instructional time, and subject to performance evaluation of the participant may be measured in continuing education units (CEU). One CEU is defined as ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education adult or extension experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction. The CEU may serve as a unit of measure to give recognition for an individual’s participation in non-credit activities which meet appropriate criteria and may also serve as one of the accounting units for the institution’s non-credit courses. CEUs are maintained through the Office of Workforce Development. To participate in non-credit (CEU) programs or courses, a student should complete an application form and be of sufficient maturity for the course desired. No transcript, certificate, test scores, or anything in addition to a completed application is required unless it is an EMT course. Full payment covering the cost of the course with course identification on it will hold a place in any class until the first class meeting at which time the application can be completed.
