Meeting minimum ADN admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program. Acceptance Criteria Applicants’ files must be complete and submitted to the Office of Admissions & Records and the Office of Healthcare Education to be considered for acceptance into the program. The student is responsible for assuring all data is correct and received by both offices before the application deadline. Students admitted to the nursing course must adhere to the policies in the current East Central Community College Catalog and the Nursing Student Handbook. The Licensed Practical Nursing Transition to Associate Degree Nursing program is founded on nursing theory and education to offer learning and professional opportunities in academic and practice environments for qualified Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students pursuing a career as a registered nurse. LPN students are provided an opportunity to seek advanced placement into the Associate Degree Nursing program. Graduates of the program receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS). Graduates who meet the requirements of the State Board of Nursing may be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEXRN ®). The State Board of Nursing may deny any application for licensure due to criminal history, commission of fraud or deceit in the application process, or addiction to alcohol or other drugs. The Licensed Practical Nursing Transition to Associate Degree Nursing program is accredited by the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (MSIHL) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Applications for the Licensed Practical Nursing To Associate Degree Nursing Bridge program may be obtained online at https://www.eccc.edu/lpn-adn-transition-program in January of each year. The application deadline for Spring classes are October 1. All entrance materials must be on file in the Office of Admissions and Records and the Office of Healthcare Education by October 1 each year. Admission Requirements 1. The applicant must apply for regular admission and be accepted by the College. 2.
