LICENSED PRACTICAL NURISNG TO ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING BRIDGE STUDENTS Licensed Practical nurses are eligible for consideration for advanced placement in the Associate Degree

Nursing (ADN) program. Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bridge Program, applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. .The applicant must apply for regular admission and be accepted by the College. 2. .The applicant must apply to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program. 3. .The applicant must have an 18 ACT composite score and a cumulative GPA of 2.00. 4. .The applicant must have completed all pre-requisite courses with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better. 5. .The applicant must hold a current unrestricted license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Mississippi. 6. .The applicant must have one-year clinical work experience within the last five years; documentation from employer(s) must be submitted with application. 7. .The applicant must score 100% on dosage calculation test given prior to admission. Prerequisite Courses

Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab or upper level equivalent with lab Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab or upper level equivalent with lab Microbiology with Lab or upper level equivalent English Composition I & II Human Growth & Development

Meeting the admission criteria does not guarantee admission into the program. The number of students admitted into the program will vary according to resources available. The acceptance criteria are the same as for the two-year ADN program. In addition, post acceptance requirements are the same as all other ADN students. Applications for the LPN to ADN Bridge Program may be obtained online at www.eccc.edu after August 1 each year. Application deadline for the annual spring admission is October 1. EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY (EMT) BASIC STUDENTS Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) is a one-semester instructional program that prepares individuals to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the Emergency Medical System (EMS). Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight, trained in airway management, communications, documentation, general pharmacology, hemorrhage control, ambulance operations, and splinting of adult, pediatric, and infant patients; and special care of patients exposed to heat, cold, radiation, or contagious disease. Students who complete the program are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Exam and become state certified.
