PNV 1442 — NURSING FUNDAMENTALS AND CLINICAL — This course provides the student with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to care for the individual in wellness and illness and is applicable across the life span, as well as demonstration and supervised practice of the fundamental skills related to practical nursing. Corequisite: PNV 1523. Six lecture hours, Eight lab hours, Six clinical hours. Twelve semester credit hours. PNV 1667 — MEDICAL/SURGICAL NURSING CONCEPTS AND CLINICAL — This course provides the student with the basic nursing theory and skills to provide safe and effective care for the adult client experiencing acute, chronic, or life-threatening physical health conditions in selected body systems. Pharmacological and nutritional therapy considerations for various disorders are included. The systems not covered in this course are taught inAlterations inAdult Health Concepts and Clinical (PNV 1676).This course also includes clinical experiences for application of nursing theory and skills for safe, effective care of the adult client experiencing acute, chronic, or life-threatening physical health conditions in all body systems. Prerequisites: PNV 1523, PNV 1442. Corequisite: PNV 1714. PNV 1814. Four lecture hours, Six clinical/lab hours. Seven semester credit hours. PNV 1714 — MATERNAL-CHILD NURSING — This course provides the student with basic knowledge and skills to promote and/or provide safe and effective care for clients and families during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods as well as infancy through adolescence. Prerequisites: PNV 1442, PNV 1523. Corequisite: PNV 1667, PNV 1814. Three lecture hours, Three clinical hours. Four semester credit hours. PNV 1676 — ALTERATIONS IN ADULT HEALTH CONCEPTS AND CLINICAL — This course provides the student with the basic nursing theory and skills to provide safe and effective care for the adult client experiencing acute, chronic, or life-threatening physical health conditions in selected body systems. Pharmacological and nutritional therapy considerations for various disorders are included. PNV 1814 — MENTAL HEALTH NURSING — This course provides the student with basic knowledge and skills to assist in the promotion of the emotional, mental, and social well-being of the client and family experiencing a mental health alteration. Prerequisites: PNV 1523, PNV 1442. Corequisites: PNV 1667, PNV 1714. Three and sixty-seven hundreths hours lecture, One hour clinical. Three semester credit hours. PNV 1914 — NURSING TRANSITION — This course prepares the student for role transition and the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX®PN). Prerequisites: PNV 1523, PNV 1442, PNV 1667, PNV 1714, PNV 1814. Corequisites: PNV 1676, PNV 1301. Three lecture hours, Three clinical hours. Four semester credit hours. PNV 1301 — PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT — This course is designed to promote active participation in national, state and local student nurse organizations and involvement in community activities. This course consists of meetings where group discussions will be held concerning today’s nursing trends. Goals and objectives set by the student nursing association will be carried out by the group. One semester hour credit for three semesters of participation. SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY SUT 1111 — CST PREP I — First semester review and preparation for the certified surgical technology (CST) exam. This course also will provide instruction related to employment and employee responsibility to promote an effective transition from the role of the student to the role of the employee (One semester hour credit. One hour lecture.
