ECCC HALL OF FAME RECIPIENTS Six new inductees joined the East Central Community College Student Hall of Fame during the annual Awards Day Ceremony. New members and their respective hometowns and high schools include (from left) Reagan Tolbird of Hickory and Newton County High School; Jocey Bell of Forest and Scott Central High School; Kim Salvador of Carthage and Leake Central High School; Myla Sanders of Lake and Lake Attendance Center; Eden Smith of Quitman and Enterprise High School; and Annsley McMahan of Union, who was home-schooled. Selection to the Hall of Fame is considered the highest honor a student can receive at the college. Among the criteria used by those selecting Hall of Fame recipients are exemplary character, superior scholarship, worthy leadership, and contributions to the betterment of East Central Community College.
ECCC HONORS TOP INSTRUCTOR, STAFF MEMBER OF YEAR
East Central Community College honored its instructor and staff member of the year at an end-of-the-year Employee Lunch held in Mabry Cafeteria on the Decatur campus. Honored as the Instructor of the Year was Susan Fox Smith (left) of Philadelphia, a psychology instructor who retired at the end of the spring term following 19 years of service. Honored as Staff Member of the Year was Carole Germany (right) of Union. Germany has been employed at the college since 1995 and serves as administrative assistant to college President Dr. Brent Gregory. They were each presented with a plaque and a $500 check from Dr. Gregory. The ECCC Foundation supports the Staff Member of the Year award and the ECCC Alumni Association supports the Instructor of the Year award.
