DECATUR - East Central Community College led from start to finish

After jumping out to a 17-6 advantage six minutes into the contest, the Warriors grinded their way to a key 78-62 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College Thursday night in MACJC action. 'I felt our guys played hard (Thursday)," ECCC coach Robert Thompson said "(Co-Lin) did a good job of making us scrap to get the win. I think our guys got back their composure in the second half, and we started doing the things we were doing early m the game that were successful: ·we played hard and played together," Henry said "They made a run. but we made our shots to get the win. We're a very confident team. We know we're a good team, and we can beat anybody if we play our game. The Vl/olfpack (2·11, 0-4) managed to cut the deficit to six with 1 :53 remaining, but ECCC was able to stave off any late rally thanks to clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch. ' We need to make those free throws,• Thompson said of his squad, which was 10 of 10 at the line in the final two minutes. ' We've been shooting it well all year. We did a good job of playing smart basketball. I was real pleased with us playing inside-out.• Additionally. Thompson said it's imperative for his squad to win its home games in the highly South Division of MACJC conference. · o ur side is very tough,· Thompson said. "You have to defend your home floor It's that old formula: Win your home games and split on the road, and right now we're doing that. We just have to maintain what we're doing.• The warriors (7-6, 2-2) were led offensively by Rav1on Henry, who tallied a game-high 24 points.
