DECATUR - Forty-four students were recently I selected for membership in the East Central Community College Warrior Corps, a select group chosen to repre– sent the College with recruiting endeavors and special events on the Decatur campus. ECCC Gospel Choir performs DECATUR- East Central Community Gospel Choir performed its fall semester concert last month. Scott County students included Malcolm McBride, Morton. The Rev. Marcus Mann, also an ECCC alumnus served as master of ceremonies. ECCC President Dr'. Billy Ste"-art also provided remarks. Gospel choir mem– bers who participated in the program included Andrea Riley, introduction of master of ceremonies; and Keona Foster who oerformed a mime dance. DE~ATUR - The "Real Contenders" took top hon– ors d~mg the East Ce~tral Community College Wellness Wa:r1or Healthy Habits Challenge. The corrlpetition, which was held during October and November 2014 was a poi.nts-b~ed event that challenged emplo~ees t~ eat healthier, drink more water and exercise. "Th~re were 109 participants in the Challenge," said Dr. Krista Le~run, ~vent chairperson. "Many partici"– pants s~ted this was JUSt the motivation they needed tc get their health on track and that this was a fun activity to complete with their colleagues." . Logan Alford of Forest was the recipient of the Denver Brackeen Scholarship presented at East Central Community College in Decatur. Alford was among more than 120 students who received 124 endowed or annual scholarships as they entered the current school year.
