The Mississippi Organiza– tion for Associate Degree Nursing (M-OAD~) and ASNEC Scholarship was re– cently established at East Central Community College in Decatur. The new scholarshlp was establinhed in .Januarv 2015 to honor the profession of nursing, specifically the as– sociate degree nurse. M-OADN is a state organi– zation primarily interested in working to retain the reg– istered nurse title and the scope of practice for the a.c:;– sociate degree nurse. ASNEC is the .\.ssocialion of Student Nurses at East Cen– tral Community College. M– OAD'\ and ASNEC work togcth<>r to promote agency participation and profes– sionalism of the as:-;ociatc degrl'c nurse nt East Central Community College. The scholarship will be awarded annually to the president oI ASNEC.
