ECCC students selected for Percussive Arts Society

East Central Community College students Caleb Franklin of Morton and Anna Girling of Carthage were recently selected to participate in the Mississippi Percussive Arts Society All-Star Ensemble, announced Ed Girling, assistant director of bands and percussion instructor. The All-Star Ensemble, com– posed of the top high school, community college, and univer-

sity percussion students from the state of Mississippi, will per– form a concert at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Percussive Arts Society's "Day of Percussion" at Hinds Community College in Raymond. "This is a tremendous honor for both of these students to interact with other fine percus– sion students and professors,"

Girling said. "They will receive instruction from guest artists and perform a variety of new music." The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held at the Vashti Muse Band Hall on the Raymond campus. Registration begins at 9 a.m. General admission is $15 and members of the Percussive Arts Society will be admitted for $5.
