Knabusch Scholarshipwinners announced La-Z-Boy South has named its scholarship win– ners from Edward M. & Hen– rietta M. .Knabusch Scholarship Foundation.

Keith Bishop, Rayanne Crave, Allison Federick, Tyler Richardson, Amanda Pientowski andKaitlin Smith $2,000 scholarships. Bishop, the son of Marilyn and RickyBishop ofDecatur, will be a sophomore at East Central Community College in the fall. While at EC this past year, he was a member of the cho– rus and tennis team. He also works at Chesney's Restau– rant in Little Rock, aswell as SimplySouthern Upholstery. He is a member of Hickory Baptist Church and voluntar– ily helps elderly in his com– munity with yard work. After EC. he plans to con– tinue his education at the University of Southern Mis– sissippi to obtain a degree in forensic cience. Craven, the daughter of Chris and Angela Craven of Newton, will start her senior year at Mi~sissippi State University, seeking a degree

in criminology. Her extra-curricular activ– ities during college include Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Pbi, Alpha Phi Sigma and student leader in AWANA at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She also works at the New– ton County Animal Clinic. She has also been on the president's list at both ECCC and MSU and was named to Who's Who AmongAmerican Colleges and Universities. Federick, the daughter of David and Gail Federick of Lawrence and graduate of Newton County Academy, was a member of the Honor Society, FBLA, FCA. and Kountry Cruizers Car Club. Her awards/honors include honor roll, headmaster's list, senior homecoming maid and vice presiden\ of the honor society. She also

works at the Piggly Wiggly. Federick plans to attend ~1eridian Community College in the fall, pursuing a degree in respiratory lherapy. Pientowski, the daughter of Mike and \1ichelle Pit'n– towski of Ne\\10n, "ill bt'gin her senior year at Missis– sippi State University in the fall, where she will continue to pursue her degree in ele– mentary education. She also works at Dollar General. Richardson, the son of Mike and Yickie Richardson of Lawrence and graduate of Newton County High School, has participated in FF A, va– cation Bible school, canned food drive. Children's Barn– yard, NCRS \\ildlife festival, livestock judging and land judging. \\ith FFA; he re– ceived the Creenhand and chapter degree. He also

works for a local farm, clear– ing land, working cattle and cuttin~ grass. He plans to attend East Central Community College in the fall to obtain a degree as an HVAC technician. Smith, the daughter of Pam and Tim Smith of For– est, will start her junior year at East Central Community College. Dm'ingher first year at EC, sbe was a cheerleader, mem– ber of Phi Beta Kappa, Wo– Ht!'-Lo annual staff, Warrior Corp and Students Against Destructive Decisions.
