Winston County Board of Supervisors opened the July 20 meeting with an update on East Central Community College from President Dr . Billy Stewart. ECCC "We had a great year at East Central. Our transfer students had the highest GPAs when transferred to colleges." reported Dr. Stewart. • Dr. Stewart went on to say that ECCC had the highest number of graduates (568 gradu– ates) in the history of ECCC with a 36 per– cent increase from last year and a 62 percent increase in those who transfered to 4 year colleges. "ECCC's Softball team is second in nation and this year our women's soccer and softball teams had the highest aca- demic GPAs i n the nation," stated Dr. Stewart. Dr. Stewart went on to report that there have been no tuition increases. "We continue to have . the lowest in A state, but continue to offer quality educa- c tion," said Stewart. · Dual
