Reds reliever addresses EC team
Retired major league pitcher Scott Sullivan (pictured above) headllned the annual East Central Community College First Pitch Dinner held Saturday, Jan. 31, on the Decatur campus. From 1996 to 2003, suru~van was one of the Cincinnati Reds' most durable relief pitchers. During his speech, he related many stories of his major league experiences, including how he pitched to St. Louis Cardinal great Ozzie Smith during his final at-bat prior to retirement. Sullivan also stressed the impor– tance of teammates supporting each other and working together as a team to be suooessfuL The event is held to recognize team members and program supporters in preparation for the new season.
