the hands of Holmes by a final count of 80-71. Sophomore Miaya Crowder led the way in scoring for the green and white with 24 points, while Londyn Thomas had 21 points in the home loss. Freshman Tytianna Hall also checked into double figures for the Lady Eagles with 12 points. Minyone Hill and Carmesha Nalls each led Holmes with 19 points apiece. The MCC women dropped its overall to 3-1 and Holmes improved its overall record for the season to 3-1. The Lady Eagles will also return to action Monday (November 17) on the road at Bishop State, while the Lady Bulldogs will host Southern University Shreveport Saturday. From staff reports \. The Meridian Commu nity College Eagles were looking to rebound after dropping a tough road loss at East Mississippi a week ago by hosting the Bulldogs of Holmes Com munity College Thursday night at the Graham Gymnasium. The Eagles built a 15-point lead in the second half and were able to hold off a rally from Holmes to secure a 64-61 victory over the Bulldogs The MCC men improved to 2-1 overall for the season, while Holmes dropped to 3-1 after the road loss. Sophomore Brandon Daniels had a solid night for the home squad by scoring 25 points to lead the way, while Ken!DarĀ· rius Hamilton chipped in with 12 second half points. Frankie Collins added eight points and Phillip Walker collected five points for the Eagles. Daryl Macon led the way for Holmes with 26 points, while Marcus Washington had 12 points for the Bulldogs.
