Lady Warriors sweep MCC East Central Community
Lauderdale, three singles; 1)1 Buckley of Neshoba Central, double, single and RBI; Karoline Holsonback of South Lamar (AJa.) High School, two doubles; Kaylin Hopkins of Louisville, triple, single and RBI; Anna-Katherine Nowell of Leake Academy, RBI single; and Morgan Poner of Enterpnse, single. Scoring runs were Buckley (3), Turner (2), Nowell, Beard, Christen Benson of Brookhaven, Hopkins and Nikki Triplett of Forest. Kendra Wilson got the win for EC. She went five innings and allowed one earned run on four hits. She fanned four bat ier.. w1ct walked three. Wtlson is a product of South Lamar (Ala.) High School. Makayla Kelly hurled one shutout inning and allowed a hit. She is a product of Nederland (Texas) ,High chool. In the second game, Porter
belted a three-run home to lead the offense. Other sluggers were Nowell, triple; Stephens and Holsonback, each with two sin gles and RBI; and Hopkins, double, single and RBI. Beard was also credited with an RBI. Runs were scored by Stephens (2), Porter (2), Hopkins (2), Triplett (2), Buckley, Beard and Amber McBroom of Brandon. Kelly got the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits through 3 1/3 innings. She fanned three batters. Wilson hurled 1 'lJ3 shutout innings. She fanned four batters and walked three. The Lady Diamond Warriors, who are ranked 17th in the latest NJCAA Division II poll, travels to MS Gulf Coru.t Community College Saturday, April 5. The twin bill starts at noon on the Perkinston campus.
