He and the Mentors traveled over much of the United S:a:es o aying again other Air Force base teams. ...;con discharge from the Air Force, Henderson attended Louisiana College, where he distinguished himself as a ce'ensive left end and punter on the Wildcat squad. He was awarded a letter for both the 1960 and 1961 seasons. Heriderson was also elected senior class vice president, and was a member of the Athenian Literary Society and the L Club. He achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average when he received a bachelor's degree in education from Louisiana College in 1961. Henderson began his career in education as football coach and biology teacher in Many, La., followed by a stint at West Blocton High School in Alabama. While serving at West Blocton, Henderson received a master's degree in education from the University of Alabama. In 1965, Henderson became principal of Sebastopol Attendance Center. During his tenure, Henderson served as president of the Cherokee Athletic Conference and vice president of the Scott County Teachers' Association. A move to Liberty Attendance Center in Liberty, MS, made Henderson the youngest principal at that time in the Mississippi Public School System. In 1971, he was named Superintendent of West Jasper Schools, a position held for eight years. It was during this period Henderson was selected president of the Mississippi Association of Schools Superintendents. In 1979, Henderson was chosen Vice President of the Physical Plant and Auxiliary Services at Hinds Community College in Raymond. During his tenure, numerous buildings were constructed under his supervision, and he was responsible for a large portion of the Hinds staff, including maintenance, custodial, grounds, golf course, bookstore, new construction, etc. Henderson was awarded the college's highest employee honor, the 3E Award, for his "emphasis on enrichment and excellence." He was a founding member of the Mississippi Association of School Plant Managers 13' and served as the organization's president for several years. Henderson is an active member of Raymond Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and deacon chairman. He was chair of the building committee when the new Christian Life Center was constructed, which nearly doubled the church's meeting space. He 1s married to the former Delores Underwood of Forest. They have three daughters, Mrs. James (Pam) Reeves, Mrs. David (Judy) Bufkin and Mrs. Mike (Leigh) James; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Henderson said he continues to enjoy sports and considers his years on the gridiron as some of his best' RICHARD FULMER He was described by a teammate as "the biggest and meanest football player" he had ever seen. Dan Chatwood, who would later lead the Warrior football program in the mid-1960's, also said of Richard Fulmer. "'I soon learned that all the players on the team looked up to him as a true leader. He had many successes on the field at East Central Community College and many successes off the field throughout his life ·· Fulmer has the unique distinction of being a three-year starter on the Warrior football squad A standout fullback and linebacker at 5-11. 200 pounds. the 1959 ECCC graduate said his selection to the college s Athletic Hall of Fame ··is one of the h1ghl1ghts and honors of my lifetime."
