DECATUR - East Central Communi ty College leads the nation in the number of community/junior college student-ath letes receiving academic honors for 2013 14, according to the National Junior Col lege Athletic Association (NJCAA). According to the report, 24 ECCC stu dent-athletes qualified for the special recognition. ECCC honorees include four student athletes who received the Pinnacle Award f~r Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA); five student-athletes recogruzed for Superior Academic Achievement (3.8-plus GPA); and 15 student-athletes who earned Exem plary Academic Achievement honors (3.6 plus GPA). .
