2013-2014 President's Report

College Adopts and Implements New Logos East Central Community College implemented its new Visual Identity during the 2013-2014 term, which will convey a consistent message to internal and external audiences. Dr. Billy Stewart, college president, said, “Since the most basic component of a strong institutional indentity is a unified visual presentation as well as consistent use of graphics standards that identify the college at a glance, it was imperative that the college adopt and implement official logos, symbols and colors.” “During the first year of use, our faculty, staff and students have done a fantastic job of implementing our new graphic standards,” said Bubby Johnston, vice president for public information. “Everywhere we look now, our college community, along with our alumni and friends, is sporting this new look on T-shirts, shorts, umbrellas, backpacks and other items. When we see our logos now, we find consistency and there is no doubt that they belong to East Central Community College.” The logos (pictured at right) were designed by Communication Arts Company (college logo) and Beam Team Design (athletics logo) and officially adopted by the ECCC Board of Trustees in April 2013. In addition, a new Identity Graphic Standards Manual was created to familiarize members of the college community with the college’s official logos, symbols and colors, as well as assist with the implementation of the indentifiers. The manual also offers useful guidelines for incorporating the visual image in a wide range of situations and environments. Along with the manual, the college’ Public Information Department is responsible for maintaining and distributing the proper logos, symbols and colors. Staff members are available to provide guidance and technical support for those who wish to use the new identifiers.
