Ja'Monica Orton (seated center), a basketball standout the past two seasons at East Central Community College in Decatur, is continu– ing her career on the university level. Orton, a 6-foot guard, is shown signing a national letter of intent with Wright State University, located in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio, as Lady Warrior head coach Bill Smith (left) and assistant Britta Stephens look on. Orton was an All-Region 23 and first team MACJC All-State selection for two seasons and was named to the 2012 MACJC All– Star Team. She averaged 17.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game and helped lead the Lady Warriors to the first round of the 2012 MACJC State Basketball Tournament.
