MACJC All-Star Basketball Games

North Division men All-Stars are Everick Morris and Darius Woods, both of Northwest; Deangelo Priar and Emmanuel Dias, both of Holmes; Rashard Harris and Cortavious Vaughn, both of Coahoma; Jermaine Hollimon and Cedric Janes, both of Northeast; Deon Bedford, East MS; Marius Myles, Itawamba; and LaQuavius Cotton and Kwahmere Gredric, both of Delta. ECCC assistant Matt Riley will serve as head coach. Bedford averaged 8.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while shooting an improved 46 percent from the field and 76 percent from the line, prima– rily in a sixth-man role for head coach Mark White's 23-6 EMCC Lions this past season. An integral part of EMCC's three-time NJCAA Region 23 and MACJC North Division champi– onship clubs, Bedford was named to this year's NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team after scoring 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds, including five offensive boards, in EMCC's 63-49 championship-game victory over Southern University at Shreveport (La.). Bedford, a product of West Oktibbeha County High School, averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest as a freshman fo r the 25-5 EMCC Lions. He also ranked third on the 2010-11 squad with 25 made 3-pointers. Admission is $5 per person for the NJCAA-sanc– tloned event. She also averaged 3.8 rebounds an~ ranked second on the team with 33 made 3-pomters as a collegiate rookie. .
