good people," said Hill, whose decision to step down as the Warriors' softball coach and accept a full– time teaching position at the college was approved Tuesday during the col– lege's Board of Trustees meeting. Kristin Chaney, Hill's assistant the past four seasons, was ~elected to replace him. "My dad once gave me some advice. He said, 'Surround yourself with good people.' So, that's one thing we've tried to do is to look for good people in addition to good players.'' Hill and Chaney cer– tainly found good players During his nine years in Decatur, Hill amassed a 308-123-1 record. ECCC also recorded its first NJCAA Region 23 cham– pionship in 2010 and first MACJC state tournament title in 2011. Both years the Warriors advanced to the NJCAA national tour– nament, finishing fourth in the country in 2010 with a 47-11-1 record and fifth in the nation in 2011 at 37-15. ECCC also won three straight MACJC Central Division tWes during Hill's tenu:e.
