EC had been swept by Jones Junior College (7-0. 1-0) earlier in the week. EC was 28-11 entering this week. This week, EC was scheduled to go lo Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday, host Pearl River on Thursday, and go to Southwest Mississippi on Friday. Jones 7 - 1 EC 0-0 The Lady Diamond Warriors fired blanks in both games of the April 10 dhision doubleheader at Ellisville. EC, ranked 19th in the NJCAA Dh-ision ll poll, dropped to 26-11 over– all and 10-6 in division play with the two losses.•Jones, ranked No. 5 nation– ally, improved to 30-5 and 16-2.
In the opener, Ginger Lonergan tossed a five-hit shutout for Jones. Lonergan (14-2) had nine strikeouts. Haelie Allen, A.J. Peeler. Haylee Roberts. Brittanv Pounders. and Kaetlen Br0\\"'11 each had a singie for EC. Mary Sanders went the distance and took the loss. In gamejwo. Lauren Candies (14-3) threw a five-hit shutout for Jones. She sh·uck put three.

Tenna Patterson took th<' tough-luck loss for EC. She gave up two hits and two walks and fanned four. Peel<'r, Roberts, Patterson, Brown, and Lajoya Griffin each singled for EC. EC outhit the Lady Bobcats 5-2, but were unable to put runs on the board. EC 4-10 Copiah-Lincoln 2 - 3 EC clinched a playoff berth with Saturday's sweep at Decatur. The Lady Diamond Warriors improved to 28-11 overall and 12-6 in the MACJC South Division with the two wins. In the fil·st game, Kelsi Watson's solo homer followed by AJ. Peeler's two-run double and Haelie Allen's REI– single in the fifth inning broke open a scoreless contest and gave EC a 4-0 advantage. Co-Lin responded with two runs in See Qualify, 3-B...
