ECCC· socCer squads split recent action on the pitch

East Central Commu– nity College's soccer squads dropped decisions to Holmes Community College Friday, Oct. 5 and fell to Jones County Junior College squa.ds Sunday, Oct 7. . In the matchups with Holmes, the Soccer War– riors were edged 2-1 m overtime and the Lady 1 Warriors also fell by a 2-1 margm in MACJC North Division competition held in Ridgeland. Sophomore forward/midfielder McGee Ledbetter of Columbus scored the Warriors' lone
goal. Ledbetter is a prod– uct. of Heritage Academy. Freshman forward Clint McGraw of Tupelo Christ– ian was credited with a scoring assist. Holmes scored on penalty kicks from Jonathan Brown. Freshman midfielder McKenzie Britt of Flo– rence scored for the Lady Warriors and received a scoring assist from sopho– more forward Kelsey Tad– lock of Newton County. Agamst JCJC, the Warriors were clipped by a 2-1 margin and the Ladj Warriors were
blanked 7-0 . Ledbetter scored for EC. McGraw was credited with a scor– ing assist. The Soccer Warriors are now 7-5-3 overall and 2-2-1 in league play. EC's women are 2-12 and 1-4. Next up are division battles at Itawamba Com– munity College scheduled Wednesday, Oct. 10. Game times are 5 and 7 p.m. in Tupelo. The home finale is set for Friday, Oct. 12 with Hinds Community Col– lege. Game times a re 2 and 4 p.m. on t he EC pitch.
