Carson honored Alumnus and retired East Central Community College Director of Bands Thomas W. Carson, right, of Decatur was honored by the Miss1ss1pp1 Junior and Community College Band Directors' Association during the Warriors' home foot– ball finale Thursday night. He was presented a plaque by Michael Bass, left), President of the MJCCBDAand Director of Bands at Pearl River Community College. Mr. Carson retired in June after 30 years of service at EC. During his tenure, the Wall 0' Sound grew from a band of 25 to more than 180 members. Carson also served as president of the state band association from 1989 to 1990 and from 2001 to 2002. He served as Fine Arts Department Chairman from 2009 to 2012. He continues to serve as director of the Collegians, the College's rock and roll band. (EC Photo)
