Dunkerson scholarship established at ECCC

County High School, where he was a member or Aocccr and football teams. He was the son of Angela and Jody Kyzar of Decatur, and Carrie Dunkerson of Alabama. To be considered for the Kyle DunkerAon Memorial Scholarship, candidates must be an incoming freshman; have a 2.0 to 2.9 grade point a' eragc; enrolled as a full-time time student at ECCC; be a resident of :\ewton County; and have a strong interest in tho outdoors and riding hor es. First priority for the scholar– ship will be given to a graduate of Newton County High School. The ECCC Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipient annually after applications have been reviewed by the Kyzar family. Family and friends of Kyle Dunkerson have established a schol– arship in his memory at East Central Community College in Decatur. Dunkerson was a student at ECCC when he lost his llie in an automobile accident on Oct. 6, 2011. He was a member of the 2010 Warrior soccer team. He enjoyed rid– ing horses, fishing, bunting, playing "catch" with his brother, Zac, and playing golf. He also enjoyed banging out with friends and family, and riding around in his jeep. He \Va.s an active member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church. Dunkerson was described as some– one "whose smile and personality were larger than life; his smile could brighten anyone's day.
