EC's Bailey named NJCAA All-American

Taylor Bailey's success in the pitch– er's circle received national attention as the standout East from Central Community College school softball player was named a reports first team NJCAA All- American for 2010-11. Bailey, who helped lead the Lady

Diamond Warriors to their first MACJC state .title and a fifth place tie in the 2011 NJCAA Division II Softball National Championship en route to a 37-15 record. i the only member of a Mississippi tenm to receive the presti– gious honor. She was also named to the NJCAA Division 11 <;oftball All-Tournament Team and re<·eived AU-Region 23 and MACJC All-S ~te honors . In addition, she 'Nas named the Lady Diamond Waniors' ..'vfo t Valuable Pitcher. A right-hander. Bailey went 32-10 and posted a 1.34 earned run average during the championship campaign. She recorded 197 strikeouts. Bailey also had success at the plate. She batted .2 and collected 14 RBI. Bailey wa.. also instrumental in tbe Lady Diamor d Warriors' successful 2010 campaign. when the squad made its initial appearance in the national tournament after capturing the pro– gram's (irst Region 23 Tournament title. The talented team finished the season with a record 47 wins, 11losses, and one tie. Bailey wa... 25-6 in 2010 and had a 1.78 earned run average. She fanned 121 batters.
